After a devastating three-day labour that ended with the loss of her baby, Tiruye was left with obstetric fistula, a childbirth injury that caused physical pain, emotional distress and deep isolation.

Like thousands of women across Ethiopia, Tiruye could not afford the surgery she desperately needed. Without treatment, she faced the possibility of a lifetime of suffering, stigma and exclusion.
